SSNAPP, a system owned by Social Media Gateways, Inc. (“SMG”, “we”, or “us”), is an engagement platform with a service under which you receive business defined currency and offers of goods or services under special terms in exchange for your social influence, network impact, peer 2 peer marketing ability, and brand engagement activity. The providers of goods and services may provide additional information and offers to you based on their terms of service, privacy, legal or otherwise stated company policies mandated by that provider or brand. SSNAPP is not responsible for any 3rd party company policies unless specified. 

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how SSNAPP uses information that can be used to identify you (“PII”).  The Privacy Policy applies to all users who use the system on or after the Effective Date listed above.  If you do not agree to our practices, you are not allowed to access SSNAPP, create an account, purchase or claim a SSNAPP certificate, or otherwise interact with SSNAPP regardless of how you access it.  This includes our site located at ssnapp.com, our site accessible by any mobile device, and any individual, business partner-specific, merchant-specific, city-specific, or other area-specific sites we offer (collectively, the “Sites”).

Neither SSNAPP nor any of our services are designed or intended to attract individuals under the age of 13, and persons under the age of 13 are not authorized to use this Site unless supervised by an adult.  We will not knowingly request PII from anyone under the age of 13 without parental consent.  We disclaim any obligation to independently investigate or assess whether a user is in fact under the age of 13.

1. Types of PII We Collect

PII is information that can be used to identify a particular individual.  We may combine or associate PII with other information, such as location data collected from your device.  We collect the following types of PII:

  • Contact Information that allows us to communicate with you.  This includes your name, postal addresses, email addresses, social media website user account names, photograph, cellular telephone numbers, or other addresses you provide to us at which you receive communications from or on behalf of SSNAPP.  Except for your user name and email address, you can choose the amount of contact information to provide to us, and contact information in addition to your user name and email address is not required to be provided by you to use SSNAPP.  We also collect Facebook identification information, email addresses, and phone numbers of third parties that are used by a user to send SSNAPP referrals.
  • Relationship Information that helps us to understand who you are and what types of offers you might like.  This includes lifestyle information, location information related to your state/province, city, or neighborhood, areas of interest, the types of deals that interest you, information collected from social media interactions (such as via Facebook Connect), demographic information (e.g., birth date, age, gender), information about persons for whom you have purchased or claimed SSNAPP certificates as gifts or who have bought SSNAPP certificates as gifts for you, and information about friends who refer you or who you have referred.  This also includes demographic information, the industry in which you work, your interests, and where you went to school.  You can choose the amount of relationship information to provide to us, and relationship information is not required to be provided by you to use SSNAPP.
  • Transaction Information that describes how you interact with SSNAPP.  This includes the SSNAPP certificates you view, purchase or claim and redeem; other information about how you use our Sites, email, other communications, and applications; and how you interact with SSNAPP merchants, business partners, and service providers.
  • Financial Account Information as needed to process payments for SSNAPP certificates that you buy, such as your credit or debit card number, expiration date, and card verification number.

2. How SSNAPP Collects PII

We ask you for your email address and user name when you register, subscribe, create an account, purchase and claim SSNAPP certificates, or otherwise interact with the Sites or contact SSNAPP.  We also ask you for PII when completing your account, which you have the option to provide.

We collect Transaction Information when you use our Site.  For example, we may track the SSNAPP certificates you view, purchase, claim or redeem, and the comments you make to the forums, bulletin boards, discussion groups, chat rooms or other methods of communication that may be offered on or through the Site from time to time (collectively “Communities”), or comments you may make on our social media pages or accounts. We also collect Transaction Information if you contact us via telephone, email, text, postal mail, social media interaction, or other methods of communication, such as for customer support purposes. 

We collect information that you provide us about other people when you purchase or claim SSNAPP certificates as gifts, including those persons’ Contact Information and Relationship Information. We create transaction records of your gift to those persons.  

3. How SSNAPP Uses PII

SSNAPP uses PII to, among other things:

  • Operate and improve our Sites;
  • Provide customers with offers for products and services from participating merchants, including offers based on variables such as stated and anticipated customer interests, personal characteristics, or location;
  • Facilitate orders for SSNAPP certificates, including their purchase or claim and redemption;
  • Evaluate eligibility of customers for certain offers, products or services;
  • Evaluate the types of offers, products or services that may be of interest to customers;
  • Track redemption of SSNAPP certificates and perform other analytics;
  • Provide customer support, including to our merchants or business partners;
  • Send you communications, reminders, technical notices, updates, security alerts and support and administrative messages service bulletins, or marketing;
  • Provide communications to you through the Sites, email messages, text messages, applications, or other methods of communication;
  • We use Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter identification information, email addresses, and phone numbers of third parties that is used by a user to send SSNAPP referrals to make sure that users who have unsubscribed from SSNAPP do not receive unwanted emails and text messages; and
  • Manage our everyday business needs such as Site administration, forum management, transaction fulfillment, analytics, fraud prevention, enforcement of our corporate reporting obligations, Terms of Use, or to comply with the law.

 4. When and Why SSNAPP Discloses PII

We will disclose to third party merchants any PII you provide to us to the extent you have purchased, claimed or redeemed a SSNAPP certificate offered by the merchant, or participated in an offer, contest or other activity sponsored or offered through SSNAPP on behalf of the merchant.  Any use of your PII by that merchant will be subject to the merchant’s privacy policies, so please review these privacy policies before participating in any merchant-related program.

We will also disclose to third party credit card payment companies, such as authorize.net, any PII you provide to us if you desire to purchase goods or services through SSNAPP.  As with merchants, any use of your PII by such third parties will be subject to their respective privacy policies, so please review these privacy policies before using your credit card through SSNAPP.

We may also provide merchants with the ability to communicate through SSNAPP with individuals who have purchased or claimed the merchants’ SSNAPP certificate, to send customized offers, to validate purchases or claims, to aid and troubleshoot redemption, to assist in combating fraud, as part of legal proceedings affecting SSNAPP or the merchant, and to facilitate a relationship through SSNAPP between merchants and customers.  If you allow, SSNAPP will provide to its merchant customers a user’s name, picture, age, sex, and number of Facebook friends.

Please be aware that under certain circumstances your PII may be subject to disclosure pursuant to judicial or other government subpoenas, warrants, or orders, even if we are not a party to the action.  If we are legally compelled to disclose your personal information to a third party, we will disclose the information as required and to the extent permitted by law, but exercise commercially reasonable efforts to notify you of the disclosure unless doing so would violate the law or a court order.

In the event that we go through a business transition such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale or other transfer of all or a portion of our assets, your PII and non-personal information will likely be among the assets transferred.  Your PII will also persist in our back-up files, even if you cancel your account.

The data SMG and SSNAPP collects for its business clients resides in the SSNAPP databases and the business has access to its own data. SMG and SSNAPP does not sale or distribute this information to 3rd parties or other companies unless authorized by the business.

5.  Other Information We Collect

We collect other information that is generated from your use of SSNAPP and the Sites.  We collect the following types of additional information:

 

·         Navigation Information that is gathered as you view our Site.  We use log files and cookies to gather this information.  We log this information when you visit and browse our website.  We record details such as page views, time spent on the website, and the websites you visited prior to vising our Site. 

 

·         Device Attributes that are gathered from the devices you use to access our Sites.  We record details such as browser types, your operating system type or mobile device model, domain, and other system settings, as well as the language your system uses, and the country and time zone of your device.

 

·         Other information that is gathered includes your internet address, wish lists under which you provide information concerning goods and services you wish to purchase, the domain name of your email address, and the internet address of the device you use to access the Site.

 

6.  How SSNAPP Collects non-PII

When you use our Site, we collect certain information by automated or electronic means, using technologies such as cookies, pixel tags, web beacons, browser analysis tools, and web server logs.  As you use our Sites and applications, your browser and devices communicate with servers operated by us, our business partners and service providers, to coordinate and record the interactivity and fill your requests for services and information.

The information we gather from your use of the Site may be stored on your computers or mobile devices, and is transmitted back to our servers by your computers or mobile devices. These servers are operated and managed by us, our business partners or our service providers.

When you visit our Site, we, or our service providers, may place cookies on your computers or mobile devices. A “cookie” is a small amount of information that a web server sends to your browser that stores information about your account, your preferences, and your use of the Site. Cookies allow us to recognize you when you return, and help us provide a customized experience and detect certain kinds of fraud.

Some cookies are temporary, and others may be configured to last longer. “Session” cookies are temporary cookies used for various reasons, such as to manage page views. Your browser usually erases session cookies once you exit your browser. “Persistent” cookies are more permanent cookies that are stored on your computers or mobile devices even beyond when you exit your browser. We use persistent cookies for a number of purposes, such as retrieving certain information you have previously provided (such as your user name if you asked to be remembered), and storing your preferences (e.g., the cities for which you want to be shown SSNAPP certificates).

Pixel tags and web beacons are tiny graphic images placed on website pages or in our emails that allow us to determine whether you have performed specific actions. When you access these pages or open email messages, the pixel tags and web beacons generate a notice of that action to us, or our service providers. These tools allow us to measure response to our communications and improve our web pages and promotions.

Additionally, if the settings on your location-aware device allow us to receive location information, we will collect that automatically.  

7. How SSNAPP Uses non-PII

We use non-PII we collect about Site users to optimize our Sites and understand its traffic and usage patterns.  We use this information to analyze trends, administer the site, and for general marketing research.  We also use web analytics to show the progress of promotions.  We may, in some circumstances, need to review this automatically collected data in combination with specific account information to identify and resolve issues for individual users.  In other cases, we associate the information we collect using cookies and related technologies with PII.

 

We may merge information about you into group data, which may then be shared on an aggregated anonymous basis with our advertisers.  We may also present aggregated anonymous information to outside companies.

8. Referring Friends to SSNAPP

SSNAPP enables you to refer friends to SSNAPP.  You may be eligible to receive additional incentives from third party merchants available for use toward future SSNAPP certificate purchases, claims, or other benefits for referring persons subject to our Terms of Use and other details available on our Sites.  If you wish to refer persons to SSNAPP, we provide you a unique referral link, which you can share directly with others via email, social media websites, or other communications methods.  If someone clicks your link and takes a qualifying action, we may attribute that referral to you for purposes such as awarding credit.  Snapp! does not collect PII about a person with whom you share your link until the person clicks the link and sets up an account with SSNAPP.

9. Security of PII

SSNAPP has implemented an information security program that contains administrative, technical and physical controls that are designed to reasonably safeguard PII.  Such measures include, without limitation, organizational measure (such as contract provisions, limiting access to those who need to know the information), technological methods (such as passwords) and physical measures (such as segregating the information in physically separate and protected computer servers).  We use industry-standard encryption technology to secure PII when it is being transmitted over the Internet.  Information collected by us from the Site is also stored on servers operated by a third party hosting service, or may be provided to third party merchants, in the case of redeeming a merchant certificate, or to credit card payment organizations, such as where purchasing a good or service through SSNAPP.  Despite our efforts to protect your personal information, however, there is always some risk that an unauthorized third party may find a way around our security systems or that transmission of your information over the Internet will be intercepted. 

10. Other Social Media

SSNAPP allows you to display posts that appear on your other social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.  You may use search terms to filter those posts you want displayed in SSNAPP. SSNAPP may report to merchants the number of users using common search terms for filtering purposes.

11. Opt-Out

You may opt-out of having all of your PII collected by the Site by canceling your account.  By doing so, you will be unable to access the Site, use its services, or receive any of its benefits.  In addition, your PII will persist in our back-up files.

12. Advertisements and Merchant Communications; Other Sites.

We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit the Site.  If so, our advertising merchants may use cookies when you view pages on the Site.  These cookies collect anonymous information as a way of measuring the effectiveness of advertising sold on the Site and to help tailor ads at other web sites you visit.  Because we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, you should read the privacy policies of each site you visit to determine what information that site may be collecting about you.

13. How You Can Control Your PII; Questions

All of the PII we may have regarding you will be set forth in your account.  You should periodically review the PII stored by us by reviewing the information you provided in your account.  You may change or eliminate any PII by changing or deleting your PII as shown on your account.  You can also set, in your account, certain preferences as to how or if your information should be shared.  You can choose not to allow us to provide your PII to businesses directly.  If you have any concerns or problems concerning the manner in which we are collecting, storing, transmitting, or using your PII, or your inability to make changes or deletions, please contact us via electronic mail at info@socialmediagateways.com.

Protecting your personal information is also your responsibility. You are responsible for safeguarding your password, and other authentication information you use to access our services.  You should not disclose your authentication information to any third party and should immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your password or access to your account.  We cannot secure personal information that you release on your own or that you request us to release.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

From time to time, we may update this Privacy Policy to clarify our practices or to reflect new or different privacy practices, such as when we add new features to our Sites. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information about our privacy practices.  Any changes are effective ten (10) days after we provide you notice.  If you do not agree to the changes, you must cancel your account with SSNAPP.

15. Openness and Transparency Policy

We believe in the power of community and the information it provides. Data is our company’s life blood, but as a data company, we want everyone who is part of the the SSNAPP community to know exactly what data we are collecting, how we use it and what’s the benefit to them. Data allows us to provide our customers and partners with the most fulfilling experiences and opportunities. Whether it be making a companies promotion more adventurous, immersive and exciting or connecting users with social missions, such as humanitarian charities, this thought process is at the heart of how we use data and enable our community of members to have a better SSNAPP experience.
